Ngā Manu Kōrero Regional Speech Competition
On Friday 12 May a group of our students travelled to Takapuwāhia Marae, Porirua to support our three speakers in Ngā Manu Kōrero Regional Speech Competition.
Lizzie Evans, Kahuti Hook and Walt Hamer all represented Onslow College.
We are delighted to be able to share that Kahuti Hook took first place in the Junior Te Reo section and Walt Hamer placed third in the Senior Māori section. These are exciting results and we are very proud of all of our speakers and the 25 students who went to tautoko them.
Kahuti will be travelling to Ōtepoti in September to compete in the National competition.
