Welcome to Year 10 at Onslow College

You can find the subjects that you have been provisionally entered in for 2020 on your Student Portal under Student Information>Subjects>2020. If you wish to discuss your option choices, email your Dean Emails will be cleared from Tuesday 21 January.All requests for option changes must be made by Wednesday 23 January.

Starting Dates

Year 10 students who are new to Onslow College begin on Tuesday 4 February with a Pōwhiri.Assemble outside the Student Centre at 9:00 am.This will be followed by an orientation programme which finishes around noon.Parents are invited to attend the Pōwhiri, and to join us in the staffroom afterwards for morning tea.

ALL Year 10 students meet in the Hall at 9:30 am on Wednesday 5 February, sitting in AKO class groups.You should check the AKO class lists in the Hall Foyer.Students will spend the morning with their AKO classes checking their courses and building whanaungatanga.Students will finish at 12:25 pm.

ID/Snapper Cards – these must be ordered and paid for by Wednesday 5 February either by internet banking (Bank Account – Onslow College A/C No 12 3174 0265002 00) – please include student name to appear on our statement or via the Parent Portal or at the office. Please order either an ID Card or and ID Snapper Card. The cost is $10 (annually) for an ID card or $20 for an ID Snapper Card, valid for five years and able to be used on buses and at some retail outlets.

Sports Registrations – Should your Student choose to participate in Sport please note that Sport Fees are compulsory.All sports registrations must be made online late December.You will receive an email in mid-December outlining the process for online registration.Registrations must be completed by Friday 24 January and Summer Sport Fees must be paid within two weeks of being invoiced to Student School Account (unless you have an agreed payment plan with the Sports department).If students encounter issues with online registration they will need to come to the Sports Office at the College on 4 February (First day of school) to register.

Stationery - Stationery list The school does not handle bulk stationery although an online option is available through Office Max My School

BYOD – Students are expected to bring their devices to school in Year 10 to further support their studies. Please note that Chrome Books are not supported by the school at this time. If buying a laptop would cause financial hardship for your family, please contact me at I will pass this to the BYOD administrator and we will contact your family to discuss an alternative arrangement.

Transport - Buses will run as normal from Tuesday 4 February.See Bus information on school website.

Lockers - Please note that you are requested not to padlock lockers until Wednesday 5 February. Any padlocks placed prior to this will be cut off. Lockers must be registered with the office.
