Image previewBadminton is played on both a competitive and social level and is for all year levels.  Teams consist of up to six players and at least four must attend every match as four singles and two doubles games are played.  There are several grades for both boys and girls to enter from beginners upwards.  . Students can also enter the Wellington Secondary Schools Championships in singles or doubles.

Trials:  Trials will be held at the end of Term 1 to select competitive teams. 

Junior (Year 9 & 10) - Thursday 1st April - lunchtime Onslow Gym

Senior (Year 11-13) - Friday 2nd April - lunch time Onslow Gym

Social Teams: If you would like to play with your friends in a team, you can do so by registering your team of 5 - 7. A team manager must be named and a minimum of 5 players must be registered. 

Training:  Lunchtime sessions in the Onslow Gym - Days will be confirmed at the end of Term 1

Competition:  

Seniors - Fridays from 3:30 – 5:30pm at various schools around Wellington                                             

Juniors - Thursdays from 3:30 – 5:30pm at various schools around Wellington

23th July – Junior Team Finals, Naenae

4th August  – Junior Singles Champs, Hataitai

11th August – Open Singles Champs, Hataitai

20th August – Open Team Finals, Hataitai

Equipment: Students must have non-marking court shoes and their own racquet.

Uniforms: Onslow College Sports Top to be purchased from the Sports Office.

Cost:  $35.00

Parent Help required: Transport and supervision is required at all venues and teams cannot be entered without a manager.
