There are several events during the year for both juniors (Get2Go Challenge) and seniors (Hillary Challenge) as well as other events for all ages (Go412 and Big Bang).
Races all involve outdoor challenges and adventure sports including navigation, kayaking, climbing, mountain biking. Some also include tramping and rafting. Get2Go is an adventure racing competition for Year 9 and 10 students that requires teams of eight to work together to complete challenges based on mountain biking, kayaking, rock climbing and rogain (orienteering).
Training takes place during the winter terms and is based on developing cohesive, supportive teams as well as technical ability. For many students it is their first introduction to mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking and orienteering – it is also great fun.
Training: Training days to be arranged with the adults in charge and team members.
Equipment: Students require a mountain bike and helmet and fair degree of willingness to try anything challenging in the outdoors (e.g. high ropes).
