OnLine Subject Selection (OLSS)

For 2018 subject selection, students are using an online system.

All the usual subject information is available from the online subject selection portal to assist in selecting their subjects for the following year.

Accessing OLSS

To access the Online Subject Selection for 2017, login to the OC Portal. The link to subject choices in 2018 is on the Dashboard.

Year 9 2017 Subject Selection runs from Wednesday 23 August and closes on Friday 8 September.

All Year 10 students study; English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and Physical Education & Health. Year 10s study 4 option subjects of their choice, 2 in the first half of the year & 2 in the second half. Unlike Year 9, Year 10 students have free choice of which options to study, as long as they have met any pre-requisites, as listed in the Year 10 Curriculum Handbook. Please note that in Year 10, language courses are full-year & count as 2 choices.

Senior Subject Selection runs from Monday 7 August and closes on Thursday 17 August

How many subjects to select?

  • Year 11s must take 6 subjects
  • Year 12s must take the equivalent of 5 ½ -6 subjects (5 full-year subjects, including 12ENG and up to 2 half-years). (Maximum set at 10 to allow tailored courses for those students who need it)
  • Year 13s must take the equivalent of 5 subjects (at least 3 full year subjects, and up to 4 half-years) (Maximum set at 8 to allow tailored courses for those students who need it)
  • Most students will be choosing less than the set maximum number - the system will accept this.
