English Language Study

Specialist language teachers run an excellent English language programme which aims to meet the needs and English level of the students. In addition, the ESOL Department provides in class support and works with students individually. The department also runs a Curriculum Based Language course to support students in their mainstream Maths and Science classes. Students are prepared for the New Zealand university entrance English requirements and the I.E.L.T.S examination.
The ESOL Department works hard at teaching the students the necessary study skills to function effectively in their mainstream classes and tertiary study. For example, some of the topics covered in their course are time management, exam preparation, note taking, setting goals and vocabulary learning.
