Cultural Diversity

Onslow College students come from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. The school has a long tradition of welcoming international students and has run cultural exchanges for many years. A number of students also come to live in New Zealand for up to 5 years, living with their families who work for an Embassy or Consulate. Over 10% of all our students are from non English speaking backgrounds. Currently our students come from Germany, Fiji, Malaysia, Brazil, South Africa, India, The Philipines, Paraguay, Chile, China, Vietnam, Japan, Hong Kong, and Korea.
Onslow also offers a number of exciting international student exchanges. We have a ‘sister school’ relationship with Yamamura Girls’ High School in Tokyo and our students visit there biannually. We also offer regular language visits to Mexico, France and Germany. There are also regular classical studies trip to Greece and Italy and a trek to the Himalayas.
