Himalayas Trip 2012
Onslow College Tramping Club
Indian Himalaya Trip 2012
Onslow College Tramping Club has successfully run trips to the Indian Himalayas in 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2009. Another trip is proposed for 2012.
The proposed itinerary will include travel to New Delhi via Singapore. There will be a 10 day tramp climbing to over 4000 metres (about 500m higher than Mt Aoraki/Cook) where we will visit the Nanda Devi area (Nanda Devi is the highest mountain in India). This will involve travel by Indian Railways, two overnight trips, and hired taxis. Sight-seeing will include a visit to Agra and the Taj Mahal, and we will visit a wildlife sanctuary as well as amazing shopping and sightseeing in Delhi.
